4. PRODUCTS
The Products module displays a directory of all the Products that are currently in the system and provides detailed information on every record:- Product Name – the name of the product
- Category Name – the name of the category that the product belongs to.
- Active – indicates the status of the product. If a product is active it is displayed on the website.
- Order – enables you to establish the order in which products are to be displayed within a category on the Products page of the website.
- Description button – enables you to add/update an overall description of the Products section that is to be displayed on the website.
- SEO button – enables you to edit SEO information related to the Products page.
- View button – provides a preview of the product.
- Edit button – gives you the possibility to update existing Products.
- Delete button – enables you to remove existing Products.
To add a new Product:
1. Click Add New Product.
In the General tab:
2. Enter the Product Name (mandatory).
3. Enter the Buy Link and ZO number (mandatory).
4. Select the Category that the product belongs to.
5. Select the Active option if you want the Product to be displayed on the website.
6. Enter a Product Short Description (mandatory) that will be used on category pages, related products, etc.
7. Click on Next to be directed to the Description tab.
In the Description tab:
8. Use the text editor to add a description of the product (mandatory). The description is visible on the website on the Products page.
9. Click on Next to be directed to the Image tab.
In the Image tab:
10. You can easily upload product related images by clicking on Browse and selecting the image to be uploaded.
11. Click on Next to be directed to the Related Products tab.
In the Related Products tab:
12. You can easily associate various Products related to the current product. Use the Search option to find a certain product by entering the first characters. The Available Products list will be filtered according to your criteria. Select the Products to be associated by clicking on a record from the Available Products section on the left; then click on Add. The selected records are displayed in the Currently Selected Products section on the right. To delete included records, select the record from the right and click on Remove.
13. Click on Next to be directed to the SEO tab.
In the SEO tab:
10. Enter the URL (optional).
11. Enter the Title (optional).
12. Enter the Keywords (optional).
13. Enter a textual Description (optional).
SEO Tip: Try to avoid using long titles and/or excessive keyword repetition.14. Click on Save to add the Product to the list.
To view a Product:
Click on the View button corresponding to each Product to access the Product Preview.
To update Product related information:
1. Click on Edit button corresponding to the Product you want to update.
2. Perform all the necessary updates.
3. Click on Save to record the updates and return to the Product List. The updates will be automatically displayed on the front site as well, if the product is active.
To delete a Product:
1. Click on the Delete button corresponding to the Product you want to remove.
2. Click on Yes to remove the Product from the list. Clicking on No cancels the delete action and returns you to the Product List. If the deleted Products are active, they are also removed from the front site.
