Building a SEO FRIENDLY Website: Part II

Just like girls gone bad, SEO Friendly Websites corrupted are equally as hard to be brought back on the right track, so instead of having to do damage control, we’d rather let you know what NOT to do if you want to keep it nice and simple.

1. Stop the blabbering!
Meaningless URLs are not appreciated by anyone, and that includes search engines. This means that large numbers should be avoided at all cost! This might cost you your important pages and end up indexing useless stuff instead.

2. Don’t get complicated!
Dynamic URLs of astronomical length intimidates search engines and users, at the same time.

3. Don’t ask for submissions of forms, registration or search!
Search engines don’t have the ability to click buttons or complete surveys. Cookies might work with Santa, but they definitely don’t work here, so save them, and save your energy as well!

4. Frames are for pictures, not websites!
Just help yourself from giving ‘em any attention whatsoever.

5. Unnecessary redundancy should be avoided at all cost!
Don’t repeat text until users and search engines suffer from word intoxication. There is no need for a distinct page in the case of similar objects that just have different colors. Stuttering is embarrassing online also…

6. Don’t lose yourself in meta tags keywords!
Actually avoid any type of useless actions. Your time costs money. If search engine don’t use them, you neither need or want them!

7. Don’t belittle the importance of linking!
Do it yourself, and not automatically count on your site’s architecture. That may end up in internal pages not linked properly, and therefore, poor landings in searches.

One last, but very important advice for you: although the world is not a fair place, doing things right in the domain of Search Engine Optimization pays! Only use White Hat SEO techniques. These are organic, and just like in the food’s case, it’s preferred! Also, they’re guarantee an effective use of all the tools you use and don’t put your website on the black list. Organic, highly targeted traffic is what you want, and the “good guys”, in this case the ones wearing the white hats, can bring it home to the plate for you.

With all this said, take your list, pour the fuel and let the transformation begin! No more “Oups” moments allowed on your website’s SEO history! From now on, you know what to avoid so search engines will love your pages.
